The International Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association was created by the direct descendants of Yang Luchan, the creator of the most famous style of Tai Chi Chuan in the world, and it is committed to the preservation and teaching of the traditional Yang Style of Tai Chi Chuan. The Association has founded a Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center in Mexico City, from where the teaching of the true Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan is spread throughout Mexico.
For hundreds of years, the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan has set the standard in the world. It is the most popular and easiest to learn of the styles of Tai Chi Chuan, and it has proven to bring the best benefits for the health. It is also because of this style that this martial art is called “Tai Chi” today. The Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center Mexico is an organization that was authorized by the direct descendants of the Yang family to continue the preservation of their style and it is found at the facilities of the Mexico Shaolin Temple.
The Mexico Shaolin Temple is a non-profit organization devoted to spreading Eastern sports and cultural activities. It is the USA Shaolin Temple’s branch in Mexico and an official Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center, a melting pot of 1500 years of knowledge and the twenty-first century.
The objective with the websites KungFuLegacy.org and TaiChiLegacy.org is to continue extending our reach with the spreading of eastern philosophies in English speaking countries, these websites are intended to assist the public in finding more information about the legacy of these wonderful practices and the ways to benefit from them in everyone’s own local areas. To accomplish this, we promote free school directories, information about styles, events, magazines, seminars and, in general, the creation of a community of practitioners interested in learning more from different masters and styles and exchanging opinions in an environment of respect and cordiality.
Mexico Shaolin Temple
The Mexico Shaolin Temple was founded on October 28, 2004 by master Shi Heng Yi (Daniel Corona) and his own master, Sifu Shi Yan Ming, an authentic 34th Generation Shaolin Monk, who has been made famous by his appearances in the Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. In 2007, the Temple was officially recognized as an International Yang Cheng Fu Tai Chi Chuan Center by Master Yang Jun, 6th generation descendant of the Yang family, famous for their style of Tai Chi Chuan. In 2008, the Temple became affiliated to the Peng You Taiji Quan Association, founded by Master Peng You Lian.
Since 2003 we have been organizing events with the members of the Yang Family (direct descendants of Yang Luchan, creator of the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan). They frequently visit us to train students and spread the Traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan. We also visit and practice abroad with the direct descendants of the Five Tai Chi Families: Chen, Yang, Wu, Hao and Sun, where the students learn the differences between the different styles and their applications.
The Temple’s work has been recognized by dozens of media in Mexico, the US and Latin America, as well as by several movie and television celebrities. You can browse through our gallery, and our Articles and Media Coverage sections. Among our tasks is also the spreading and teaching of Chinese traditions, such as the Lion Dance, the Chinese New Year and Wushu. To accomplish this, we use several types of media to take the teachings everywhere: we have a publishing house that prints books and newsletters, videos on DVD and digital material, among others. We also have regular paid classes and free classes for the community.
The students have the chance to take part in national and international events, which allow them to exchange experiences with their fellow students from other countries and learn directly from the great masters in their visits.
